Batushka

 A Ritual to Remember

Batushka from Poland have released two phenomenal albums over the past decade, each one weaving sacred sounds into blackened atmospheres with incredible depth. Their performances are more than concerts—they are full-scale rituals that draw the audience into something ancient, immersive, and powerful.

At Inferno 2025, Batushka delivered yet another unforgettable experience. From the first solemn chant to the final thunder of drums, every element was flawlessly executed. The layered guitars, hypnotic choir, and ritualistic percussion all came together in perfect harmony, creating a wall of sound that felt both sacred and ferocious.

I had the chance to meet Felix and Krzysztof from the band—an honor that added a deeply personal layer to the evening. I spent most of the set filming, focusing on capturing the band’s essence for a visual reel. While I also took a few stills, it was more about translating the emotional intensity of their performance into moving images.

Massive thanks to Batushka for such an extraordinary night—and for their openness and energy off-stage as well. Documenting this experience was a privilege, and I’m content of the result.
